Exclusive OTP Report: Costco Set To Offer DISCOUNTED Wegovy Prices Tomorrow

Original posted at obesity.news/ on Nov 16, 2025

Saturday afternoon I received a message that really got me excited about GLP-1 access, because if true, it has the potential to change millions of real lives. A source with direct knowledge told me that Costco and Novo Nordisk are about to announce DISCOUNTED cash pay pricing for branded Wegovy and Ozempic as early as tomorrow. Branded medication. Not compounded. Actual Novo Nordisk products at prices we have never seen in this country.

And if this is true, it could not be arriving at a more important moment.

Here is what I was told. Costco members would see as early as tomorrow 11/17/2025:

ree

$199 dollars for Wegovy .25 and .5 five doses for a 28 day supply

$349 dollars for a one month supply of the higher Wegovy doses

$349 dollars for Ozempic .5-1mg one month pens

$499 dollars for the Ozempic 2mg Pen

Let me say something important right away because I know my community. I know what you are carrying. These numbers are still too high for many families. Still too high for people who are working two jobs and trying to hold their place in the world. Still too high for anyone living check to check and doing what they can to stay alive. This is not “cheap”. This is not a solved problem. This is not a solved problem.

But it is a massive start.

We have never seen prices on branded medication move in this direction, not even a little. What we are watching right now is a shift in strategy. Novo and Lilly are beginning to lean toward high volume scripts and choosing reach over the old ceiling of max profit. They are making moves that open the door for more patients instead of fewer. And that matters for millions.

This is a lifeline, and it would be a lifeline for a very specific group of people. The people who have already been $500 for therapeutic doses of semaglutide. The people who have already stretched every part of their budget to keep their disease at bay. For those people, for those who have watched their costs do little but rise, this could be a massive relief. A relief perfectly timed for Christmas when money is already tight and stress is already high.

There is also a practical reason why the Ozempic two mg pen sits at $499. The Ozempic pen contains a total of 8 mg of medication. The design lets the user adjust their dose from .25 to 2mg, all within the same pen. It is one multi use device, not four separate fixed pens. Wegovy is different. Wegovy uses single use pens for each dose. That makes it harder for Novo to cut the price for Ozempic because the pen is adjustable. The good news, it is widely covered under insurance plans for it’s indication of type 2 diabetes, and most pay $50 or less per month.

There is another piece of the puzzle that I want you to hear because it matters for where this is all heading. At the MFN Office press event last week, we learned that “Wegovy Plus”, the new 7.2 mg dose with weight loss efficacy that gets close to Zepbound, has already received priority review from the FDA. That means it is on a fast track. It is likely to be approved within the next couple of months. And it was almost certainly not included in this Costco pricing conversation because Wegovy Plus is not on the market yet.

It may not have even been included in the MFN talks. In a closed press briefing with Lilly CEO Dave Rick’s, OTP learned that its phase 3 drug Retatrutide was not included in MFN talks, contrary to insinuations by the administration. Time will tell on the future drugs. Once Wegovy Plus enters the picture, the entire pricing structure of this space shifts again. Manufacturers will have to rethink the upper doses. Retailers will have to adjust. Insurers will have to respond. Once again, we will wait for the details to come out, and you can trust OTP to bring it to you.

But tomorrow could still be a massive turning point for millions.

If this announcement is real, it would be the first meaningful downward movement on cash pricing for branded incretins in the United States. A real crack in the wall that has kept people locked out for years.

I will be up early. I will be refreshing everything. I will update you the second anything becomes official. You will not be left in the dark on this.

Tell me in the comments what this pricing would mean for you. Would this change your ability to stay on therapy. Would this give you hope going into the holidays. Your stories are what push this entire movement forward.

Stay close. We may be waking up to something big.
